That’s why being named a finalist in the HealthTech Provider of the Year category at the HealthInvestor Awards 2026 genuinely means a lot to everyone at Healistic.
Not just because it's a prestigious industry award, but because it feels like we're really being recognised for something we’ve worked hard to build over time.
How it all began
Thinking back to how it all started, Healistic began with a very simple idea: Prescribing medication privately should not feel complicated.
For many clinicians, issuing prescriptions still meant dealing with unnecessary admin, paperwork, delays and pharmacy back-and-forth that took time away from patients.
And for patients, accessing medication was often slower and more frustrating than it needed to be. We wanted to make that process feel easier, and so, Healistic was born.
Building something around real frustrations for doctors
One of the things that shaped Healistic early on was listening to our core audience. Not just to clinicians, but also to patients who had experienced how prescribing often worked behind the scenes.
We quickly realised that there was a common theme: too much of the process felt fragmented.
Doctors were writing prescriptions, pharmacies were processing them separately, clinics were following up manually, and patients were often left chasing updates or pharmacy hopping to find the medication they needed. For something that should have been simple, it rarely was.
On the flip side, healthcare professionals are already balancing busy clinics, compliance responsibilities and patient care. On top of that, admin can quickly build up, especially in private practice where customers expect quick results.
That is where digital prescribing started to make sense.
The aim was never to replace the relationship between patient and doctor or add extra work to clinicians' desks. Instead, it was to make the whole prescribing process feel easier for doctors, patients and pharmacies alike.
Simple in theory, but building a system that works, is secure, compliant and easy to use takes a lot of time.
Being part of a changing healthcare landscape
Healthcare is changing quickly, especially in the private sector. Patients want convenience in the same way they do in other parts of life. They want faster communication, easier access to medication and fewer unnecessary steps - especially if they are paying for the service.
At the same time, clinicians want tools that allow them to prescribe safely and quickly, without adding extra admin to their plate.
Because of this, we knew technology was the answer, and being shortlisted for a HealthInvestor Award feels like recognition of that.
Digital healthcare is no longer something sitting on the edge of the industry; it's becoming part of how care is delivered every day.
